Besides my transcriptions on PaidTabs and arrangements, I also record and compose. Here you’ll find my album, some original songs and music commissioned for advertising and apps.
Album · Independent release · 2017
My classical guitar album: just the sound of nylon strings, with works by Tárrega, Chopin, Bach and Carlos Paredes, plus my arrangement of “Clandestino” by Deolinda.
It was launched at a recital in Setúbal, Portugal, and has sold over 1,000 copies.

Originals
Original · 2016
A studio sketch recorded so the idea wouldn’t get lost, with the vocals and instruments still to be polished. It’s a song about a change of consciousness.
I looked for new paths, with unconventional chord progressions, and built the structure like a short play: act by act, with the tempo building up to the end.
With Tiago Duarte (drums) and Noémio Freixa (backing vocals).
Original · 2013
An interesting technical challenge: I wrote the instrumental first, and fitting the different vocal parts in different keys turned out to be tricky. You can hear influences ranging from bossa nova to José Afonso.
With Tiago Duarte (percussion and mastering), Noémio Freixa (backing vocals) and Jorge Brandão (reading the poem “Um dia” by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen). Video by Steve Cutts.
Original · 2012
It started as a technical exercise and quickly became a song. Music is made of happy accidents like this.
It was a rainy day, and the first notes on the guitar reminded me of raindrops falling. Hence the name.
Original · 2012
A piece that took me through many feelings: calm, peace, fear, the rush of everyday life. You can hear the influence of the great Carlos Paredes.
Back then I didn’t have the means to record with good image and sound. A new version is on its way.
Commissioned work
App · ABC do SAPO
Music written especially for the “ABC do SAPO” app, which helped young children learn the alphabet.
I kept playing it to my youngest students and only considered it finished when the kids smiled every time they heard it. After all, it was for them.
Classical guitar, cavaquinho, bodhrán, electric bass, digital percussion and piano.
Advertising · 2008
Soundtrack for the Festroia 2008 commercial, the Setúbal International Film Festival. A mysterious sound, made mostly with digital effects: the only analog instrument is the electric bass.
I’m preparing online guitar courses and ebooks with sheet music and tabs. Leave your email to be the first to know when they’re out — and get new free downloads in the meantime.
Audio production
I produce audio, mainly soundtracks, both commercial and artistic. I like clients to follow every stage of the creative process: that close collaboration is what gets the result exactly where they want it.
For advertising, apps, games, short films and cinema.
Sound crafted for every image.
Short, catchy and easy to remember.
The final polish and voice-overs for your projects.
