Around 1998 I went with some friends to the Ritz Club to see Gonçalo Pereira play solo for the first time. What struck me most was his version of “Movimento Perpétuo”. I bought his CD and, with no sheet music or tabs, started the madness of working the piece out by ear. It took me months to put the parts together, full of doubts all the way.
Ever since, this masterpiece has been part of my technique practice.
